hi again john i should say i already have the garret turbo its the 3.5 i think from the big escort cossie model.
Its currently matched to a courtenay cast manifold but as i said something is not right with it since it keeps blowing gaskets.
its also not pulse separated which i think only real engineers consider when turbocharging.
boost is now at 1.5 bar and if i drop the ratio further we will be able to ramp it up over 2 bar.
we have not measured the pressure drop yet at intercooler but alan at ava is pretty sure there is a drop between plenium and intercooler. my plenium is already slightly larger diameter than stock.
I havent tried optimax yet but for the conversion i had insisted on unleaded simply due to the additional running cost.
I don't know about you guy's but i don't run about on full boost all day.
So i wanted the option of running unleaded for day to day and super for track etc.
Really want to look into LPG since it is supposed to have 110 ron octane rating.
rs intercooler dropped inlet temps to below 25 degrees measured on road 3rd gear left foot braking up hill and it never went over 28 degrees.
