On me GSI 4X4 i have fitted a Mongoose full system.
I Have the car lowered by 40mm and since this the exhaust,(From the Gearshift back to the rear box) is only about 5-6" from the floor. !!
I Then see all other modded GSI`s slammed by 60mm with phat 17" wheels and no problems with their pipes.(Yes they are 4x4`s).
why does mine hang so low, it is fitted properly and all sits nicely together.
Mines was lowered 60mm with a Mongoose system and I'm not sure mine was that low.
Hmm.. perhaps it was. Never had any clearance problems though. My cav had bad camber on the rear, this will often push everything downwards, not to mention wreck tyres, arse around with fuel pipes etc etc.
The only reason i ask is now, every time i have an angled bump to go over, SCRAPE, all the time, i`ll be wearing the metal out next !!
You can feel the exhaust get pushed up into the car.
It makes me feel like putting standar springs back on her.!!!!!
I seem to remember reading on the club calibra site that mongose systems hang low, and scrap on speed humps. Im thinking about a mongose myself. Does it sound good? By the way its important to adjust the camber on 4x4 cavs because if you dont you are effectively running on diferent tyre diameters that will dammage the trasnfer box.
yep, the mongoose system does hang a bit, more like a few inches lower on a calibra, and does take skilled ppl to fit it other wise it will rattle, but the build quality is excellent! highly recommended!!
