OK, I've been thinking hard. My bored 2.2 Frontera to 2.3 Astra idea is looking less attractive.
I'm now back to thinking....
2nd 2.0 8v block rebored.
16v or lovely SBD con rods
some lightweight pistons, get that inertia down
full rebuilt etc etc
whack 2.0 8v head on
2.0 16v injection? (this is the scraphead challenge lo cost version, since the 16v system seems capable of 180BHP)
or throttle bodies with MBE or similar
or twin 40s/45s with ECU controlled fuelling, a la Weber Alpha
and to complemet that lot
some sort of faster road cam
Keep me busy I think.
The main reason for staying 2.0 is that the blocks are easy yo get hold of. As are the complete engines.
