Todays problem seems to stem from the centre section of the exhaust, looks as though the pipe has seperated from the silencer However, as noisy as it may be I am convinced the engine revs far more freely. I for a long time have a niggling problem, which i have never been able to resolve. Crusing along the motorway I would gently accelerate at which point the revs would increase, sound a tad strange and drop again. This would never happen if i boot the thing, then we're off! To me it felt like a breathing problem off sorts. Anyways!
This prob has all but gone with my new gaping hole Making me wonder if one of my silencers have collapsed.
The question is then, what exhaust to go for? Fancy a stainless steel system, and would probably have the cats removed, purely for financial reasons (there going to last forever if I only use them at MOT time)
Magnex seems to get the thumbs up, but what about Powerflow/ quite fancy being able to specify exactly what I want.
Finally, roughly what is that going to set me back? I'l ring around when I get the chance but if anyone has fitted something different to their V6 let me know pweese?
i'm thinking how long will the zorst last????? but there r a few that will suit us out there. but all i can say is get the best ur bucks will buy especially if ur gettin stainless.
i want a dual exit back box 4 mine, 1 each side of the no plate but will probly end up doin it miself, a la lexus style.
pvd has systems for our barges try him for a price.... make sure ur sittin down though.
p.s may just get some large bore pipe work and get some max flow silencer's for it with my own b/box.
I'd like to ask what you mean by more sensitive than a babys bum, but I'm too scared! I take it you're of the 'drainpipe exhaust' theory?!
I was budgeting at £300 for a Powerflow single exit, probably another £100 for a dual exit, fully fitted with single round or twin square pipes. Thats only a guess based on other Powerflow exhaust fittings though.
Cheers all, the car is going to MMV on Tuesday for a cat back Powerflow system to be fitted for 360quidlys. Just need to find a credit card that will take the extra load
As for bits and bobs for the Omega, yeah, most stuff if available for it, just got to hunt around a bit to find it. Many suppliers hear the word Omega and immediately switch off, even though I know that half of their parts catalogues behind the desk contan relevant products
Lovely! Just had the system fitted and I am more than happy with the quality! It sounds just right as well, almost factory when sitting at idle, certainly silent inside the car.
Normal driving is nice and quiet as well, but a heavy right foot wakes the exhaust up! The engine revs far more freely now, however Iain at MMV showed me the old system and it had definatley seen better days, so chances are that was pretty restrictive given the state it was in.
All in all, rather chuffed with my new system! Recommended
So chuffed! Went for a good old blat round the countyside today and im greatly impressed by the increase in performance! Must have been long overdue!
MMV are in Stirling (outside Glasgow) but there are a good few Powerflow fitting centres round the country. Find somewhere nearby as the lifetime guarantee requires a free annual inspection and a stamp on the card.
