I've just had a Black Diamond clutch fitted to my GSi.
The clutch pedal now sits about an inch lower than the brake pedal. The old clutch was about level.
All gears feel rough engaging and when engaging reverse it grinds.
Is this the clutch needing adjusting? surely this isn't normal is it?
you just need to adjust the cable, there is a white nylon adjuster on the end of the cable ontop of the gearbox. lift the clutch pedal up as far is it will go and jam it up with a hammer handle or something. this will then slacken the gearbox end and you can screw it in a bunch of turns. There will be a circlip on the thread of the adjuster, need to remove this first.
I'm trying to figure out in my head which way to wind it, but i cant remember. I think you need to wind it clockwise, so it moves towards the back of the car. Then take out the prop from under the pedal in the car, and see where it sits.
If ive got it wrong the pedal will just sit even closer to the floor, in which case wind the adjuster the other way
