right, heres the deal. it aint on a vauxhall, but the principles the same:
the turbo bearings are a bit shot and a t35 is going in soon, but when giving it some the coolant temp rises quickly and then falls again. the car will idle at the same temp all day long and it isnt a big worry since the temp doesnt go into the red, its just i havent been able to come up with a good explanation of whats happening.
took dump valve apart and cleaned and greased it up. bled coolant system and heater matrix (twice). a bit of oil is seeping through the turbo (mobil motorsport oil btw) and i was wondering if the turbo was pushing hot air into the coolant feed making the overall temp shoot up. plausable? possible? some water is being lost and there isnt a leak.
the only other expanation might be that the turbo is really shot and is getting super hot, but cooling down as soon as car is stopped making detection impossible (cunning little bastard).
info and/or help from any turbo boys pretty please...
