nope, they did a 2.0 8v 4x4 and a 2.0 16v 4x4 as well as the turbo
just seen one for sale for £100, has bent valves aparently
wondered if it was the C20 LET i could rescure it using my XE head
The LET and the XE use different heads, there are more cooling channels in the LET.
i never new that
thanx for that ickle info
oh the 4x4 turned out to be a 2.0 8v
The heads are near IDENTICAL. There are 2 extra oil tappings which allow oil to and from the turbo and thats the only real difference.
There is a blanking bolt to the top of the oil filter which is removed for the oil feed pipe and the pipe put in here and there is a hole tapped in the front to take the oil return pipe.
Apart from that, heads are identical between C20LET and 20XE.
Did the 8v 4x4 have 4 or 5 stud config?
when the gagged ones are reinstated
Only the Cavalier Turbo and V6 had 5-stud.
Couldn't think of anything good to put in here.
Yeah, sorry.... your right Andy.... DUH!!
The heads are identical (the 20XE was designed as a turbo engine to begin with according to some place)
The blocks are different but can be converted to take the turbo if you know what your doing.
So if i wanted to carry out some head work while my original one was still working in the car, I could find a 20xe head and do the work then swap everything over when the time came?
AFAIK all the heads on the LET were CosCast ones, so if you wanted to work on an XE head and then swap it over you would be best to find a CosCast XE one. Or stick the XE one on temporrarily and work on your LET one then swap them back over.
