Gonna take the rocker cover off this weekend and investigate the words 'uprated cams', hoever how do I identify if this is true?
Do VX or kent/piper etc cams have identifying marks on them? if so what are the ones on the standard cams (is it lift/duration??)?
I know that any cams that don't require new/modified pistons aren't gonna make that much differance but it would be nice to know exacly what my engine has in it.
Also the note said 'uprated clutch'. I was gonna put a new one in anyway but does anyone know the markings that appear on a standard or aftermarket clutches to identify them?
markings are usually stamped on a ground-off flat on the body of the cam somewhere - or the end.
if you haven't already, I recommend you give your lifters a thorough clean - get a bowl and soak em in paraffin or similar, and pump out all the old oil and ensure each moves freely - then empty em out, dry em off and re-oil them in a clean oil bath.
