Sunday morning i went ballistic in the engine bay and stripped the top end right down. Got slightly stumped finding a combination of tools to join my 3/8 torx sockets to my 1/2 inch wrenches. A trip to halfords sorted that today and when i got home from work at 4pm i got the head off. At first glance theres slight divots on the edge of the piston recesses, affected pistons are 3+4 only. I took the head into the garage at stripped that down. Again, Iím stumped for tools as i donít have a valve spring compressor, but, i can clearly see both inlet valves for cylinder 4 have shiney squished leading edge, a little nick on both inlet valves for cylinder 3 also. Pistons 1+2 seem clean after a good inspection, as do the valves for those pots. Looking at the head as a whole the bad valves seem to sit flat, the heads arenít sticking out one edge or anything noticeably misshapen. So thatís all i know so far. Tomorrow i will have the valves out maybe the stems will tell a nice tale.
