About that white label indentifing the engine number, looking though EPC it seems these engines which had them fitted were
from Finland, Norway, Sweden, Australia or New Zealand. UK cars didn't have them!
About being ground off, my C20XE just looks rusty, yet the C20LET looks a lot 'flatter', less rust but still no markings I can see. When you said it to be ground off, I take it you can see the marks of a rotating grinder wheel all over it?
