what would i have to do to get a turbo in this car, its a standard astra gsi, i have heard i can fit a turbo from a calibra or cavalier straight to the existing engine is that true? what would i need to do??
Much easier to just put a whole calibra or cav turbo engine(c20let engine) is,they look similar to the XE(your engine c20xe)but are quite different, different pistons, different ecu and loom, etc.
It is possible to turbo the XE using LET bits but its lots easier and probably cheaper just to bung in a c20let engine.
They go for around £800 upwards for the engine, ecu and loom etc, everything youd need for the swap.
The wiring is easy as the engine looms are totally seperate to the car loom, and you use your existing wiring for alternator, starter, oil pressure etc.
