Engine still bumbling dispite all the obvious being done - HELP?
I have a vauxhall astra 1.4 (SOHC C14NZ SPi 60bhp) and I get a 'bumbling' at the exhaust as if the car was misfiring and the engine shudders at the same time as the exhaust bumbles. Also you can hear tapping every now and then in intivals of around 20 seconds when idle. I have had the following done to rectify the problem:
New Spark Plugs
New HT leads
Complete Fuel Injector Clean (by a mechanic and myself using redX)
New Cam Belt and timing
Rolling Road Cam timing
New Exhaust back box
The car has just done 62k and I'm not sure what else it could be. It's had a new head following a cam belt snap at 50k. Everything else was ok following the snap. It's driving me nuts, there are no tapping during the drive, although sometimes there is hesitant acceleration.
Thanks to those who replied to my thread with regards to the position of the HT leads on the dizzy, thats done now.
WHAT ELSE COULD IT BE??? ANY help would be welcomed because my mechanic or vaux aren't sure what it could be?
