Cambelt cover rubbing against alternator belt!....
Engine in question is a 1.6 (16sv) so it has a stupidly flimsy cam cover
I changed the alternator bushes and arm adjuster bushes the other day, and when i went to put the alternator belt back on i noticed the cam cover was about 2mm away from the edge of the belt. And sometimes it even moved a bit so it was rubbing, as there was marks left on the cam belt cover.
If i push the cam cover in there is more clearance, but what can i use to keep it there?
I cant screw it in can i? Since there is no where to put a screw (or it will be too close to the cambelt).
So what else can I use? If i glue it, how easy will it be to get the bugger off if i need to change/take off the cambelt later on?
Is there any sort of clamps i can get to do this job?
Any help would be great, as all i can see happening is my alternator belt is gonna snap when im out in the sticks!
