TRANSFER BOX MAINTENANCE
The oil in the transfer box is a synthetic fluid and does not require changing.
Fluid Level Check
1. Remove the wiring harness connection from the temperature switch.
2. Remove the switch from the transfer box, using a thin walled 19 mm ring spanner. If necessary, the outer diameter may need to be ground down to provide clearance.
3. The fluid level should be at the lower edge of the aperture.
Fluid Level Top up
Using the recommended synthetic fluid, top up the transfer box fluid level, using a funnel and the transfer box vent hose, as shown in Figure 4 30, until the fluid reaches the lower edge of the temperature switch opening.
NOTE: The fluid will flow very slowly.
Reinstall the temperature switch tighten to the recommended torque specification and reinstall wiring.
