Here is the specialised engine mount for MY 20xe engine. As I have expained too many times before my engine is one of the last redtops ever made. Vauxhall for the last year of their production used parts off the to-be released ecotec valvers. It has parts such as...
Ecotec cambelt pulley system (hence different shaped mount)
Motronic 2.8 ecu
Here is the mount:
As you can clearly see that mount has two bends in the back plate rather than the standard one bend.
As backup here is an extract from the e-mail that was sent to me by Peter Dennis from his Germany suppler concerning the mount.
Yes, your customer is right! (almost)
The thing is:
Our Nova engine mounts are designed for the C20XE-engines till 1993! They do fitt perfectly!
C20XE engines of 1993 and younger, have an other type of cambelt drive!
We do have special engine mounts for these late modell engines.
The reason why we practically always sell the "normal"engine mounts is because 98% of all C20XE engines, that are fitted into a Nova, are the older (And very important) cheaper to get C20XE engines from an older type Vauxhall. (the ones before 1993 are much more common and not so expencive for a Nova customer)
We should have told you this, I now, but we forgot to mention it. (This is only a Nova problem, the Corsa-mounts fit on any type of C20XE!)
So there you have it, you learn something new everyday!!
Please refrain from calling me a muppet.
