Need to stick my exhaust manifold on sometime soon and have no idea what the torque should be for the nuts holding it on. They are barrel shaped copper nuts with a 7mm hex drive if that makes any difference.
Got a copper washer on the oil feed to the turbo which I think has hardened itself. The correct proceedure for annealing copper is, heat to cherry red then quench in oil?
3rd question (I think the answer is just "tight")
The exhaust studs which go into the downpipe flange on the turbo side, torque (its going into a cast body so I'm thinking their may be a proper value other than tight).
hi mate,I did away with most of the barrel nuts and swaped for 13s as the hex slot jus striped on a few,but some of them are needed cos its to awkward to get a spanner on just the nut,
as for the torque i just did um up fairly tight(not real tight really)i know u want a torque but mine have been solid and never leaked.
the answer to question 2 is yes, correct just heat up red hot and drop in oil.
same again for question 3(tight) but in saying that,i didnt even do them up that tight at all, again no leaks,
