think the bolt pattern is the same, but the ports are different so would need some work there
you'd be best just getting a gasket from each engine and comparing them

ecotec manifold sucks the big one though.
oh and p.s the bolt pattern is different. ecotec one uses 5 studs along top, 5 studs along bottom. 20xe uses 8 along top, 5 along bottom.
It does suck, although I have the feeling it might end up with a blower attached to it lmao
Remember: You are unique, just like everybody else.
Check out my sheddy Sport!
the eco manifold is very poor compaired to the XE version.

Thanks for the advice friends!
I think i get a cheap Ecotec manifold for begin running in my XE converted, because i will saving money for make a special exhaust manifold for turbo, then, i don't want expend money in aftermarket N/A manifold for the XE, and the XE standard manifold is hard to find here. I will need make one aftermarket then...

oh and for your information. an ecotec head WILL fit a 20XE block. i know we told you it didnt a while ago, but there was a big thread and we got down to a serious debate about it.
it doesnt really matter anyway, because the 20XE is a better head by far, and it would be very tough getting the ecotec cam belt setup to work.
hum..nice to know.
But about the drivetrain i don't understood. Can i put Ecotec drivetrain in XE engine?
I will put the C20XE drivetrain yet. My doubt now is about the "types" of XE drivetrain. Have the sticker and roller of late and early model, correct? If i put the roller of late model, with the sticker of early model, will have problem? And the cambelt, are the same of all XE's? Is true that XE Vauxhall cambet is not so strong and is good replace every 31,000 miles?
you are right, you cant mix early and late drivetrain. the drive belt i dont know. 31000 is still a long time for a simple belt change !
Somebody know if the Ecotec's exhaust manifold can fit in XE head?
I'm doing the same thing to my calibra ecotec. The port spacings are the same but the bolt patterns are different. What i am doing is machining off most of the manifold plate on my XE manifold so I have a clean outline round the header pipes. then, using an ecotec gasket as a pattern, i am going to machine a new manifold plate and weld it to the XE plate. This will space it out by about 6mm but should be an okay fit at the end of the down pipe. Will kep you posted if you want. my email is firstname.lastname@example.org if you want any more details.
