Just completed my first HG change on my 13S, and just wanted to thank all the miggers who have helped me with all the advice I needed along the way!
All runs fine now, but I still have one question:
When I took the timing belt off, I noticed that when the crankshaft pulley timing marks were aligned, the camshaft sprocket mark was nearly 180 degrees out! How come the engine was running? I've put it all back together how I found it and it runs, but shall I line up the camshaft marker as well?
Thanks for reading!

yeah youve done well, its allways a little daunting doing your 1st headgasket, usually people trip up on the timing at the end or cant work out the wiring i hate doing hgs as every car i own it seams to blow athe head gasket and now i got head probs with this one!!! well done many more to come?!
Hopefully I wont have to do another on this engine! lol. Also made sure both mating surfaces were clean by using 'scotchbrite'; used this on the pistons as well! I did trip up at the end when it wouldnt fire cos I'd left the LT lead from the dizzy (doh!) and then got the HT leads in the wrong order! (doh x2!)
