I get a really annoying knocking from the front when travelling at any speed; it builds up from a gradual thump to a high frequency noise.
It stops slightly when the wheel is turned to the right 5 degrees, but is still audible.
I changed the o/s driveshaft (the long one), the noise was still evident.
I then changed the n/s d.shaft, and was a bit peeved, but not surprised, to find the noise was still knocking away.
I was told when I bought the car that the knocking was down to the wheel bearings, though I've changed about 10 driveshafts in the past, all with the full lock-knocking noise fun.
Is there any chance it could be the wheel bearings, I thought they made a noise like a tambourine attached to the wheel, like a clattery noise and not a thumping noise.
Appreciate if someone could help, the noise is absolutely unbearable.
