I have a 1.4spi nova merit which i have had off the road for about two years building it up. So far i have:
Koni adjustables all round,
Uprated anti roll bars,
v6 brakes all round,
15" alpine alloys,
Fully seam welded shell,
6 point roll cage (safety devices)
Cobra monaco buckets
Willans 4 point harnesses
Brake bias pedal box.
Next thing to come is the engine. I want the 2 litre 8v cav 130 engine, but dont want to have to change the looms as i plan to run twin 40's in the future, so i was wondering whether I can use the existing single point injection system with just a bigger throttle body? say off a 1.8?
Also, reading previous threads on here, i've made out that i can use my existing box? not sure of the code but its the standard one (1992 j reg 1.4 merit nova). Do i just have to remove some material from the insode of the bell housing to fit the larger flywheel? I'v also read that i could use the diesel flywheel? If this is smaller in diameter will it not reach the starter motor?
Any help or ideas would be great, but i want to avoid using a different g/box because i have three other written off (not by me) 1.4 si's for spares, all with good gearboxes in them.
Thanks in advance
