I have now found myself a nice relatively low mileage K reg Cav 1.6 to fiddle with But I have a question.
I have always had 2.0 Cavs before this, either 2.0 8v (c20seh) or 2.0 16v (x20xev) Now I have a 1.6 (c16nz) I know it is only single point fuel injection and has that poxy manifold tube on it directing hot air back to the air box (a*se) but I have a pipercross induction kit that I love and would like to install it.
Now the problem I have is that there is a vacuum pipe running from the back of the inlet manifold/sfi box to the air box.
Can I just remove this and use my filter, or will I cause me a problem. I can see there is a round thing (sorry) on the side of the air box that the pipe connects to, does it really need this?
Any help is well appreciated, I have some nice ideas for this car and have quite a few bits from my previous cars to put on this one it just seems a shame to lose my filter (makes a great noise!!)
