Hi, i currently drive a mk4 astra SXI a600 16v. I recently had the cambelt changed at my local garage. Shortly after this the engine started making a funny sound. Once warm it sounds like something is rubbing or grinding inside the engine, there is no rythm to this noise either it has a totally irregular sound. I have alos added NGK bkr6eix plugs, a pipercross ind kit and a full stainless system recently aand the noise just seems to be getting louder and louder. The garage do not seem to know the cause and have stripped the engine and said it looks fine. Can anyone shed some light.............????
Have they put the crank pulley back correctly, I have seen two of these lumps where, following Vauxhall changing the timing belt, the cam pulley has been incorrectly fitted (i.e. not lined up with the keyway). This caused the Crank sensor to be smashed on one of them!
