I know none of you are going to like this but just thought someone could give me a but of info. its for a rover 800 vitesse. i've just fitted a K&N and theres a breather that goes to the original airbox i followed this back to the throttle, it has no sensors on it what so ever, there is no where to connect it to the K&N induction filter the car is running fine with it just loose in the engine bay assuming its getting the air that it requires. it doesnt suck bery hard, only slight under hard throttle, any idea what its for.
does this little pipe suck or blow air when the engines running ? It might be a vacuum pipe meant for some kind of cold/hot air mixing device in the original airbox.
My old cavalier had a pipe coming out the back of the carb and into the side of the trumpet on the original air box. At idle it held a flap open so hot air was drawn from the exhaust manifold, then at hi revs it shuts the flap and only cool air from the front grill was sucked in.
