The starter motor on the misses Corsa has been playing up recently, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, but generally it will work eventually if you try hard enough. Today it wouldn't work at all.
So I went to the scrappy and got another one, £20 and half an hour later I had fitted it, and its exactly the same as before, works randomly.
So, either the new starter motor is equally as duff.
The wiring is at fault
The ignition switch is at fault.
How can I eliminate each of these and find the problem?
Does the starter just have a permenant live, and turn when the smaller wire says so? How does it say so? 12v's or something?
I assume its this smaller wire that is cut in immobilisers, so I assume her immobilser could also be at fault?
Does the starter need an earth? There is an earth on a stud that is one of the starter mounting bolts, I thought this was odd?
Any help appriciated.
