got a 1.3 8valve mk2 astra which i want to go faster. the engine has recently had a full rebuild and the only modifications are a bolt on k+n and a twin choke weber 32/34 carburretor.im thinking of having it rolling road set up. i am also wondering whether using other bits off any other vauxhall engines will make it go faster. any ideas?
As allready said, the cheapest way to more power is fit a bigger engine,if you want more then, you can allways tune that.
If you dont want the insurance costs of a 2ltr 16v (C20XE) a popular choice is a 1.6 16v(C16XE or X16XE)both are cracking engines and can be had for around £300-£400 complete with box, ecu, lomm etc.
Or a cheaper way is to go for an 8V engine,1.6 1.8 or 2ltr,theese can be had for much less, usually around £100 or even less.
IMO it is a waste of money tuning a 1,3
