right, in the middle of putting my c20xe from a '90 calibra back together. it sat on a garage floor at the mo, with the head off, and gearbox attached.
doing the cambelt/water pump at the mo.
the teeth from one of the six splined crank pulley bolts have torn away. what is the best way to remove this now? was thinking a mini cutter like a dremel may be best, but i don't have one so would the head drill off ok?
once i have this last bolt out, what sort should i replace them with? not sure if there is enough clearance for a regular bolt to get a socket in, and an allen bolt wouldn't be able to be tightened with a torque wrench?
how do i go about holding the engine internals still whilst undoing the main crank pulley bolt? i don't suppose it will hold if i slip it into gear?
roller tensioners came off tonight to free the back plate. one had the spacer part tapered toward the block, and the other had it tapering away from the block. don't suppose it makes a huge difference, but i would have thought they should both be orientated the same way?
that's all for now.
