Thought I'd take my TB's off tonight for a bit of a laugh..well actually I had a gasket leak. I know there was some discussion on the shape of the inlet ports on the X16XE some time ago, so I thought I'd get some pics:
Also noticed that the inlet manifold is not machined to the port shape, in fact to me it looks crap - am I right ?? Check out how much bigger the gasket is...
Now, is it worth all of the effort to open this up to near the gasket size. The engine has no internal mods and made 159BHP at its last run.
Also while we're on the subject, the inlet is rough cast, like you'd find on a standard manifold. Is it worth me doing anything with this while its off the car? If so, what sort of finish should I be aiming for.
