Well went and picked up my new engine yesterday. .....
I am a very happy chap. The sump had been removed as the engine was in a caterham (spelling?) and was fitted with a dry sump. So we could all see the crank etc. The bloke said it had less than 2k on it since it was rebuilt by Minister. Myself and my mates being the trusting souls we are took it to bits just to make sure and blimey the work is awsome. Lightened and balanced everything new bearings etc. It doesn't look like 500 miles! I'm well chuffed.
Any way I need a couple of questions answered.
As the manifold for the carbs aint got a take off for the servo. What bits do i need? Just get a hole drilled and tapped or is there any bits I need welded in? Anyone with t/boddies or carbs what did you do?
Because it had a dry sump kit on it (ANIMAL HELP) there seems to be an oil pump in there and when you turn the engine over (fecking good compression) it seems to pump oil. Dou you still need the oil pump when you have a dry sump? As there was no oil pressure regulator or of all things dip stick and of course tere is no oil pick up pipe etc (anyone got these bits??)
Any advice would be nice!
Oh yeah it came with an fixed map MBE ignition thingy. Any one else got one? I need to know what the four wires are. Red, Black, Purple, and yellow/white I think they are.
Ps Gary does a standard clutch handle 200bhp ok?
