Just finished fitting a dry sump kit from SBD on my Kitcar, and fired it up to find I had no oil pressure.

Checked everything I could think of, and finally removed the sump pan to check my handywork when I re-shelled it.

A big-end, and main bearing was checked for size, and new standard sized bearings ordered and fitted.

However, number 4 big-end is actually undersize! I have checked the crank, and the old shell thicknesses-which confirm my suspicions. Before I threw the towel in tonight, it also looks like a couple of the main bearings are undersize too. It looks like it came from the factory like this-the shells are date stamped 04/89 (undersize) and 08/89 for the others.

Has anybody seen this before on an XE?
