Some bits I need some gen on for all you Nova XE'd people
[Query 1 - Brakes]
Lee May & Astra Dan have already advised me away from rear disks.... but whats everyone elses opinion to them?
Usually I would say "they look nicer" but thats not what this car is about, I want the best possible handling and braking I can get out of it.
So do I stay with Drums?
[Query 2 - Brakes]
Following on from the above, I currently have Nova 1.2 rear drums, 'JaseG' who I bought the car off, has supplied me with a rear beam (with drums) from a Nova GTE...
Are the drums the same size? Would I benefit from fitting the complete beam? Does the GTE one have some kind of antiroll bar?
[Query 3 - Strut Brace]
If any XE'd Nova owners have or had a strut brace, was it a custom made jobbie? or off the shelf... if so what make, where from and how much?
As 'JaseG' also supplied me with a chrome one with removeable end caps that bolt onto the top of the suspension, I could get one made up?
[Query 4 - Suspension]
At the moment, I'm on standard 1.2 suspension, as the XE has been dropped in, the front is lower than the back.
I was going to buy an all round -60mm kit, but should I go -60mm at rear, and -40mm at front to 'even' it out?
[Query 5 - Exhaust]
Again, currently sleeper style is a brand new 1.2 exhaust, with a bore of 1.75" (as confirmed by Astra Dan)... I thought an standard XE bore is 2.25", Dan says its 2"...
Now if it's 2", is my 1.75" bore (0.25" smaller) going to suffocate the XE that much to change it? or shall I leave it as it is?
[Query 6 - Anti-Roll Bars]
As I'm going for handling purely - is there any uprated anti rollbars I can buy? poly bushes? any other tips?
