right, a couple of months ago my car began havine trouble keeping going, it struck up first time ok but would need the right foot for a few mins before it would be ok on its own without stalling. just a choke problem i thought. only you cant just hold the accellorator pedal steady for a few mins while it warms up, the revs get lower and lower until it eventually dies so you have to keep revving it up and down til it warms up. theres this plus the noise it makes definately doesnt sound healthy, its as though its struggling. also, when the car is warmed up enough not to stall and you pull off slowly, the revs start dying down, the without any change in clutch or acc. pedal the car shoots off just as it was about to stall, this makes me look like a right learner driver when pulling of in the mornings.
anyway, as if this question aint long enuff....
i used some redex on my engine, a whole bottle. put it down my plug holes and in my carb, left it then turned it for 10 secs withoug plugs - as per instructions basically. started her up next morning and hey presto started first time, didnt need acc. pedal at all, and after a few mins the choke worked to, even had to re-adjust my idle speed setting on carb as it idled too slow. it stayed good for about 3 or 4 weeks then suddenly one morning its back to its old self - start problems and choke staying open.
right, why dont i just redex it again, well i could and i probably will, but itll probably go back again in a few weeks, so i could do with finding out whats making it go bad each time. could the engine be getting fouled up with summats? dodgy carb not burning right?? should i replace the carb/engine!!??
any help desperately appreciated!!
and thanx for taking all this time to read the question!! :-)
