Ive got a 4x4 GSi Cav with 107k on the clock. It felt ok before but nothing earth shattering. My head gasket needed doing so I decided to have the head done at the time. I should have used Gary Poole but I needed it doing quickly and his talents were in high demand. Anyway I had the head done to stage 2 by Cylinder Head Developments in Bromsgrove for £399 + vat. All ports polished, throats opened up, valve seats recut, ports opened up etc. At the same time I bought some Kent AST1612's with 10.08mm lift and 260 degree duration. Now I have it all fitted i expected something special but it hasnt happened. I have to get it to about 5000rpm before anything happens, when i put my foot down in 4th at 2500rpm it makes more noise but nothing happens. I took a vid of the 0-60 here (1mb) and it shows the 4x4 grips well gets me a good pullaway and once on cam it pulls ok.
Questions are: Would I need a custom map to see the gains from the cams and the head work? Im looking at an Emerald 3d mappable which looks very good.
Does that 0-60 seem about right for a Cav with 4x4 weight and drag?
any other comments or things i should know?
