previously my motor (c20let) would overboost to approx 15psi then boost to 10psi. and would do this quite happily.
then a hose split causing me to run the car with no water.
Fixed it all up, and now the car doesnt always overboost (sometimes in 4th n 5th, never in 1st or 2nd, and every now n again in 3rd) when it doesnt overboost it just rises to 10psi. (doesnt seem to do so as quick and defiently doesnt throw you into seat as much).
my mate had a look into tonight and he got it to overboost in everygear, but only by having his foot on the brake at the same time. i.e. puttin engine under more load.
he reckons the turbos buggered (still works like, but has internal damage).
Anyone got any other ideas before I rip the turbo out and replace it.
also is it worth getting a different type of turbo (future plans = phase 3) or is it pretty cheap to fix the one thats damaged?
