My linkage failed today. The ball and socket arrangement inside the plastic gear gate underneath the gaitor has just broken away leaving me with no gear change.
What's the procedure for removing this. I think it's as followed. Undo gearbox end selector pinchbolt. Remove centre consol (not sure how many screws this has securing it) Is it a bitch to separate from the dash?
Then to the main gear gate. I think there are 4 bolts holding this down to the floor. Remove gear lever and then remove rod and gate as one unit? Does it just pull through the bulkhead?
Refit in the reverse I guess.
Is there anything else I need to look for?
