Was having an argument with Russ yesterday over his habit of revving the V6 to the limiter while dipping the clutch.
He does it fairly frequently, normally to make another motorist aware that we are there, yesterday it was a bus that was about to squeeze us up the kerb I say use the ***king horn but he prefers his method as it makes more noise.
Cant remember when but I was told years ago that u avoid revving engines excessively while at standstill as its not good for it while not under load. Seems to make sense considering freeplay in parts if worn, backlash etc.
Russ reckons thats what the limiter is there for.
