Hi, I havent ever really posted here but i am told this is a great forum for help with everything vauxhall, so here goes!
Basically i am having a problem with my omega's PAS when the engine is below around 1000rpm. It just seems to switch off and the steering becomes too stiff to move when the car is stationary, very annoying when parking this thing as you can imagine! As soon as you apply the gas and hit 1000rpm+ the PAS kicks in and the steering is light as a feather as usual.
Ive bled the system as per the haynes manual, and checked the auxiliary drive belt tension which seems fine. Other than this i dont know what to check?
The car is a 1997 (R) 2.5 V6, the only thing i can think of is a worn pump, which i am dreading as fitting a new pump looks to be a complete bitch requiring the air conditioning system to be degassed and removed before hand - expense and hassle i really cant deal with
Any suggestions on possible cures would be absolutely diamond! Thank-you in advance for any replies.
