Recently a bolt securing the water pump fell out and stripped my timing causing 8 valves to bent and new guides!
Anyway the car was put back together and got it back today now the car idles at the right revs but viberates the whole car. I then drove the car a wee bit and the car sounded really tappy through the whole rev range like lack of oil but there is oil there at the top as i took the cap off with the engine running.
Could the garage have missed a valve that isn't totally true or dodgy tappet?
sounds like a hydraulic lifter problem, if it is a top end rattle then lifters or a couple of sticky valves. they might ease after a hundred miles or so but that on the other hand could be the death of the engine if it is because of oil pressure(you should have the oil pressure light come on on the dash b4 you start the engine then go out v soon after it starts, if not change the oil pump to be sure!) is it a clicky rattley sound or a knocky thumpy sound?? knocky thumpy will prob mean engine rebuild or replacement!
