I changed the distributor on my c20xe the other week and noticed that the mounting holes were so big that you were able to rotate the distributor some few degrees either way.
The question is if this would have any effect on timing advance?
The hall sensor is really there to tell the ecu what cylinder is getting spark and the cas is for setting the base advance and from there its the map thats used with the knock sensor to give max advance so would it make any difference at all as to the position of the distributor?
Is it possible for the ecu to max out on its map before pinking occured due to retarding the distributor, or the other way could the ecu switch maps to a more retarded one due to pinking occuring too early again due to distributor rotation.
Or am I just a retard
