I was bored earlier and i started looking at my spare engine, i've got the fly-by-wire intake sitting off the engine and i was looking at it.
Its basically the same as the normal manifold apart from the servo motor that drives the butterfly valve.
I'm looking at it and all i can say is WHY have they used this manifold its the worst designed manifold i've ever had the mispleasure of dealing with!
its over complex and HUGE it looks like the air has a million miles and hundereds of turns before it reaches the inlet to the engine!!
Also with the size of it i'm guessing the air swirling around it has a very good chance to heat up before reaching the inlet.
With all that metal and the sheer size of it it must cost a fortune.
I'm being very serious why did they fit this intake to these engines?
