    c20let into nova

i've just spent months helping a mate put a c20xe on twin 45's into his nova. it was a big job cuz we done it proper. I'm now jealous cuz his is quick and mine is still a 1.6 H reg gsi. what is envolved in putting a c20let into mine, is it pretty nuch the same as the c20xe. hope you guys can help. cheers

basically putting the engine in is the same, but you have other things to consider like mounting an intercooler (nightmare) getting a fan to fit (nightmare) and if there is any signs of rot in you engine bay it will rip the chassis away from the bulk head. the engine that is in mine now has ripped a nova apart and it was only standard power then! mine has a full rally chassis weld in kit and it had no rust anyway. it takes time and effort but is deffinatly worth it.

oh yeah ive just had to buy coilovers, v6 brakes, all polly bushes and all brand new gm ball joints , trackrods, suspension top mounts and engine mounts to get any form of handling form this thing. i didnt need all this with the valver.

mmine handled fine with just billsteins on it. wasnt too great in the wet but we all know what nova turbos are like in the wet anyway, hardly any point in tryin to boot it.

i think the easiest intercooler to go for is the frontera one and using your gsi bumper, mod the bumper so the intercooler sits in behind it. it took us a couple of days to get it just right but it was worth it in the end.

also consider what power you are hoping to be running, any more than standard and the f28 6 speed is a must, maybe with a atb diff for a hint of grip.

and it cannot be stressed enough, weld the engine bay up proper and get the plate kit(dont know where from though) as it will tear your car apart at any weak points!!!

cheers guys, i've pretty much got an idea of how to go about things, i've got a mate who's a class a fabricator and welder so that shouldn't be a problem. the hardest thing will be trying to source a doner engine!!!! i suppose it'll be easier to buy a complete car and take the bits off that i need and break the rest for a bit of cash to put towards a REGAL STAGE FOUR TUNE lol!!!! one day maybe
