Just been reading a post about an ecotec conversion into a cavalier 8v. Stemon
mentioned the following tips:
vent the cam cover breather to the air to stop the icv from clogging up.
remove secondry air injection ,
get a dremmal on the throttle body , under the flap theres a bit of restriction.
cool running thermostat as these engines are well sluggish when warm.
Can anyone shed any light on the above. Was the breather just a pipercross style, would you block the main induction pipe to the throttle body? What is the secondary air injection, where is it and what are the benefits? Where is the restriction on the throttle body, just under the butterfly or anywhere else? Finally, where would you get the cool running thermostat from and what rating would I want?
Many thanks for your help.
