    slowing down indicator relay

i'm using an indicator relay, connected to another relay to flash on/off a spark plug (which will go in my exhaust as a flamer kit). the thing is that when i turn the relay on it switches very quickly and is likely to burn out. So does anyone know exactly how these work, so i can try and slow it down (i assume it's just a case of putting a resistor / capacitor somewhere, but what size and where???)
