If you're just rebuilding the block, the use the guide for a 20XE. Block and heads are almost identical. Procedures are the same.
You have a burnt valve?? How did it burn out? Take the head off, get it pressure checked and refaced, then get a new guide fitted, seat recut and a replacement valve. Then you can refit, and lap the valve in yourself.
Torque settings for head bolts are....I think 19lb's ft for first turn, then 3 x 90 degree's then 1 x 25 degree turn.
Simon is there a haynes manual for the c20xe? i only ask as i dont even have a guide for the c20xe... i'm quite good a general mechanical work but never have attempted a head off job.. is it an achievable task, ? i just want to save a costly bill by attempting myself..
