    Black spark plugs

    The spark plugs on my sisters fiesta are black whee the gap is, what can she do about this, as in a morning the car strugles to start, then sometimes when it starts it cuts out and cant get it started again.

    how about changing the plugs with some new ones with proper gaps?
    If they turn black soon, then you know it's running very rich.

    what type of fiesta? carb or injection? sounds like the plugs have been wet fouled by running on the choke if your sis only does short journeys its quite possible the car doesnt get warm enough to turn the choke off

    yeh she only does about 15 mile journeys at the most. Sometimes only 1 mile or 2.

    she has changed them, but it still has the same problems.

    right, so fuel injection, could be a coolant temp sensor prob, maybe get it to a ford dealer and get themto stick it on the diagnostic machine?
