Well I thought things couldnt get any worse on the astra. I've spent the past couple of days sorting out some of the problems with it but I've still had a very slight misfire.
I picked up a new set of plugs, leads and rotor arm today (I did the discap and rocker gasket yesterday).
First three plugs no problem (working from the timing belt end). 4th plug was very stiff to remove and also didnt seem to undo as much as the other three before it came out. Looked at the thread in the block and my heart sank - nicely stripped thread going into the first half of the hole. The plug had obviously been cross threaded at the last service and had been screwed in tight. I've only had the car for a few weeks and dont have much service history from recent services etc. Judging by the spark plugs, they are probably around 10 -15000 miles old which would rule out the last owner as he only bought the car as a temprary runabout last december and has done about 3000 miles in it since.
Any ideas what to do ? The car runs still (albeit with the very slight misfire) and I dont want to fob it off to another person and cut my losses - I like the car and need to for my MFD/TID projects.
Its a 1994 1.4 SPi Merit if that helps.
