Got a new gasket and surfaces are clean as a really clean thing.,...unyet i still get oil weeping out! i have tried undertightening the bolts, and now they are tight as they can be but still it weeps out! should i be using some blue sealer on this or is my new gasket just some cheap crap??
For the price of gaskets its allways worth spending the small amount extra to get a genuine GM gasket.
You SHOULD NOT have to use any sealant if you do the bolts up to the correct torque.
You have probably permanently squashed the gasket in several places now so will have to use RTV or similar, dont over do it though as when you nip the bolts up the sealant will squidge out and cured bits could then fall off in the engine and possibly block oil ways. i.e. NOT good.
