I'm in the middle of an XE into a nova weekend, and I'm now stuck as to what to do, I've lowered ( the welded mount) 1.5" but now I've put the engine in, its nowhere near lining up, I'm using the origional 1.2 engine mount, buts its sitting far too low, any useful help appreciated..
I had the same problem mate. In the middle of mie this weekend too. I was using a modified nova mount but it sits too high. I've ordered a set of mounts from Brian_S on here - cheap as chips and really good quality. But I can afford to put it on hold until next weekend...
I've followed the general rule of the offside needs lowering 1.5" now I've rewelded the body mount I cant use 1 of Brians mounts because my mounting point is 1.5" lower down! and I'm not removing and welding back up higher.
My mount was done like this were the nova engine bracket itself was cut and rewelded. I take it you removed the mount housing and lowered that - if so, yes you will need an astra mount.
I think I've still got an astra mount here if you fancy a drive up tomorrow? I'm in Norfolk.
I'm thinking about, I'll have try around here first to see if I can get one closer to home.
