...or rather doesn't fit!
the multiplugs on the 1.4's are slightly different so there is no way i can use the 1.6's without rewiring the incoming multiplug from the car to the ECU
the outgoing plug from the ECU to the engine is different too, but i've got that entire loom and all the connections are the same as the 1.4's as is the equipment - also the loom only connects to the engine so its like 3ft long and nothing trails off into the engine bay - nifty design
Thats the engine out of the car and its much easier to see whats going on.
Also because my engine had 88K ish on it, and the new one has only got 20 on it, i'm using the clutch off the new one. Another thing is my mechanic said something about a sleeve within the clutch and how its usually external but on mine its internal and because i've got the engine split i should consider replacing it he said its like £70+VAT (can i get it cheaper anywhere?)
Should i replace it, he said just easier to replace while the engine is split, rather than if it fails in the future you have to lift the engine out to replace it and that would be a royal pain in the azz!
Should i replace it, what the hell is it?
I'm guessing its some sort of hydraulically controlled sleeve to engauge the clutch or something? are they prone to going, is 88K a lot for it? if it makes any odds the clutch on my car wasn't badly worn or anything like that
Quick replies appreciated, cause i'll need to order one
