xe pulley problems
When i line up the point with the grove in the pulley the engine is not quite at tdc, the piston is about 8mm down from it.
pulley has slipped on the hub. have to time the crank manually, rod down the spark plug hole or notch in the crank sprocket/oil pump
sorry to sound thick, but how can the pulley slip on the hub?
is it not a complete casting, is the sprocket bonded to the outer..
if so ARSE!
yeah thats right, theres a thick rubber ring joining the pulley to the hub. technical term is "harmonic balancer"
the pulley is allowed some movement in its tollerance, but they can slip round quite a ways. my old XE one was like a 3rd of a crank rotation out.
mine is about 90 degrees outlmao
just do it manually much more accurate
