I was going for chicken and chips at lunch and all i did was get in the cav turn ignition on and just as i started to reverse i heard an almighty pshfhfbfhfhfhbfhf....straight away i knew it was the rack fluid or air or sumthing in the steering!
The steering wheel when all rigidy as i slowly reversed likea poxy 2 foot max!
I then look in front to see power steering fluid all over the floor ahead so got out and ranted! 'Well well well...atleast my tranny box and f28 is ok init' (sarcastically)
I called autovaux straight away and they quoted me for two types of rack for the cav turbo on L reg 4x4 etc etc..typical!
They said either its the ZF one which is £80 or the ermmm C something which i can't remmeber what he said
Anyways i pulled fuse 19 out and very reluctanly drve the car 40mph down the m4 to home and opened the bonnet and still can't see whats what as the engine bay where rack is and tranny box is all wet from rain aswell
Do you think my rack has gone or maybe is it just a metal pipe that has split? I dont remember seeing rubber hoses when i took the other two racks out but i could be wrong
I called Vauxhall to get a figure for labour if i supplied the rack and they wanted £250 incl vat but the steering fluid will be extra lmao
Please can yah help me even though u aint here to see but maybe go through a few things it might be on how i lost my fluids?
p.s. no wise cracks as i need a good toss now aswell anyways
